2023 Chevy Traverse Safety Features
All 2023 Chevy Traverse mid-size SUVs come standard with Chevrolet’s Safety Assist. These driver assistance technologies include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian alert, adaptive cruise control, and HD surround vision.

These safety features are why the 2023 Chevy Traverse scored a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and an overall rating of “Good” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
2023 Chevy Traverse Models: LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country
All models come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and nine-speed transmission capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs or 2,268 Kg. While all-wheel drive is standard, there is an option for front-wheel drive for those looking to get the best mileage.
The front-drive option has an EPA-approved rating of 18 mpg for city driving and 27 mpg for highway driving for an overall 21 mpg. Choosing the all-wheel drive (AWD) option understandably lowers the mileage somewhat, but the AWD versions still achieve a respectable 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway for an overall 20 mpg.

The base model is the LS and comes standard with 8-passenger seating, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate controls, rear vision cameras, a power driver seat, and a basic interior. Upgrades to cloth alongside other features are available but extra.
The LS also comes standard with 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, Teen Driver assist, 18" silver-painted aluminum wheels, keyless open and start, and an Infotainment system with a 7-inch diagonal touchscreen, among other features.
The LT “Cloth” and LT “Leather” trims have extended safety packages giving buyers rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitors, black roof rails, and an option for a luxurious leather interior, leather steering wheel, wireless charging pad, power liftgate, and six-way power passenger seating.
The RS includes everything from the LT but with added upgrades, including red accent interiors, perforated leather, 20-inch dark aluminum wheels, a black grille, roof rails, and trim.
The Premier trim keeps the perforated leather interior but offers several upgrades, including ventilated and heated front seats, second-row heated seats, a tilt steering wheel with memory settings, 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, driver-side mirrors with auto-dimming, chrome inserts, a hands-free liftgate, and different color options for door cladding.
The Premier also has additional options, including swapping the 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels for 20-inch glossy black wheels, opting for blackout trims and red decals, and taking the SkyScape sunroof.
The High Country and True North trims include Bose 10-speaker surround sound system with Richbass subwoofer, height adjustment for the power liftgate, all-weather floor and cargo liners, dual-panel sunroof, rear power sunscreen, and rear skylight. These versions also come with a black and red perforated leather interior with various seating surfaces and color combinations.
